Welcome to the CoMapeo Categories Library!

Now that CoMapeo is out, we are excited to share the CoMapeo Categories Library with you! How will this library help you start using CoMapeo?

Communities worldwide have customized the categories in Mapeo to map and monitor their specific environments and contexts. Categories are the icons (images) with names that help organize information and visualize it on a map. This customization is usually done through local decision-making processes where people and communities get together to identify what they want to map and how they want to visually represent it.

For this reason, collections can be as diverse as the territories on this planet. However, we have learned in the process of accompanying our partners, and created these collections, or sets of categories, to facilitate your journey and inspire you to make your own.

Next you’ll find is a sneak peek into our three first collections that you can now try out with CoMapeo: impact monitoring, biodiversity monitoring and cultural mapping.

We hope that these collections of pre-defined sets of categories with their icons, will support diverse purposes in diverse territories, with a common purpose of protecting what you love.
