Welcome to the CoMapeo Categories Library!

Now that CoMapeo is out, we are excited to share the CoMapeo Categories Library with you! How will this library help you start using CoMapeo?

Communities worldwide have customized the categories in Mapeo to map and monitor their specific environments and contexts. Categories are the icons (images) with names that help organize information and visualize it on a map. This customization is usually done through local decision-making processes where people and communities get together to identify what they want to map and how they want to visually represent it.

For this reason, categories can be as diverse as the territories on this planet. However, we created these collections, or sets of categories, as possible starters to facilitate your journey and inspire you to make your own. We hope that these collections, will support diverse purposes in diverse territories, with a common purpose of protecting what you love.

Next, you’ll find a sneak peek into our three first collections that you can try out now with CoMapeo: impact monitoring, biodiversity monitoring and cultural mapping.
